read and write old-style (i.e. pre-WWII) Japanese,
be familiar with the major historical events of Taisho era

Applicants
should be aware that, due to the nature of the production,
there will come a time when it will be necessary to finally
'kill off' the character of the aged nun**
(and, contrary to rumours presently 'doing the rounds' in
theatrical circles, no, there are no plans to use
the Conan Doyle 'Reichenbach Falls / Adventure of the Empty
House' ploy - in order to bring the character back from
the dead at a later date)
**
as occurred recently to the character of the nun 'Mariko-obaasan'
in the rival stage production "Usui-do - the Musical"
